What Happens After We Inspect the Roof?
Not every inspection ends with the same recommendation. Depending on what we find, the next step might be:
A local repair
This is often suitable where the damage is limited to one area and the rest of the roof remains in reasonable condition. This could be a slipped tile, failed flashing or a puncture in the roof membrane.
Temporary weatherproofing
Sometimes the roof needs to be made safe before the permanent work can go ahead. It’s more common after storms, during heavy rain or where the right materials and access can’t be arranged on the first visit.
Further investigation
The source of a leak isn’t always obvious during a basic inspection. We may need to carry out a drone survey to inspect the covering before the repair can be confirmed.
Sectional replacement
Where one part of the roof has deteriorated more heavily than the rest, replacing that section may give a better result than repeated patching.
Full replacement
This is normally considered where damage is widespread, leaks keep returning or the roof covering has reached the end of its useful life.
We won’t recommend a new roof simply because it’s a bigger job. We’ll explain why replacement is being discussed and what the alternatives are.
